Despite being late into the blogging game, I am beginning daily and weekly routines for writing blogs on multiple sites. It feels like cliff jumping except the longer I wait to jump the higher the cliff gets. The feat of making a significant impact in the blog world seems impenetrable but all worthy ventures start with humble beginnings. But why, you might ask, am I endeavouring into the blogosphere as an near-late adopter?
First of all, I maintain a number of domains with some pretty stagnant and stale content. Second, I am not one to write journals or keep daily logs. so I decided that since I am on the net everyday for countless hours a day, I should do my part and contribute to the greatest social experiment in human history. It is not perfect, nor is any human. The platform for an equal voice on a global scale is materializing in our lifetimes.
"Oh the Internet!"
Sure, not everybody is connected to the Internet, but even as I write this more and more people are becoming hyper-connected via the increasing number of access points to the Internet. And no matter how sick and tired you get tired of hearing about how great the Internet is, just imagine how excited and amazed people were when electricity use became widespread.
"WTF will I write?"
WTF is right . . . but luckily I have a couple of easy jumping off points. More importantly, writing about what interests one's self are the easiest topics to write about. My easiest blog will be for the kava bar because it the most prominent activity that I have going. Expect a nearly daily blog on all the latest kava bar chatter. I have this hurricane related site that has been wasting away, so adding my latest views and news in the hurricane world will be weekly venture. And of course I will have personal blogs that you can catch on my MySpace , and the Dragon Project , my cyber vanity mirror. Dragon-Project.com will be covering the latest in drum and bass and feature exclusive coverage of the hottest drum and bass DJs when they take their south Florida respites.
Speaking of drum and bass, be on the look out for coverage of the 2008 Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida beginning on March 24 and culminated in the two day 10th Annual Ultra Music Festival on March 28 and 29.
"Is blogging just another way to leave your mark on the Internet like a shit stain is to your drawers?"
I have read so much mindless bullshit from bloggers and journalists alike but I have come to appreciate the small nuggets of truth buried in the easily accessible manifestations of the human psyche called the Internet. Sure not everything that is out there is Pulitzer Prize winner but it is necessary for humanity to log all that we can. These personal logs like historical records hold answers to all our mistakes and publicly documents all our achievements.
I've been told and agree that history is written in books by winners. While the Internet gives the masses the opportunity to keep the winners honest, it is the masses themselves who can be the future writers of history.
So keep tuned to my blogs, great things are happening now. Don't worry, I will keep you in the "know." ;) |
